IRON MOUNTAIN -- Wednesday, law enforcement from throughout Dickinson and Iron County underwent a training about domestic violence at Bay College West in Iron Mountain.

Dickinson County's Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, Lisa Richards, attended the training and says it's a great way to kick off National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Richards adds that the training is beneficial to law enforcement "to provide an opportunity for training for those who are on the front lines of this issue dealing with domestic violence on a daily basis."

The training was conducted by Herb Tanner, a training attorney with the Prosecuting Attorney's Association of Michigan, and discussed a number of topics with law enforcement such as investigating domestic violence cases and writing out reports.
