MARQUETTE -- The Marquette Community is banding together this weekend to help one of their own.

Dahli Bates, who suffers from Cystic Fibrosis, has been hospitalized recently with a severe form of pneumonia.

This weekend, the Norlite Nursing Home in Marquette, where her mom works, is holding a benefit to help raise money for Dahli.

"They accrued so many medical bills and with the mother and father down there 24 hours, 7 days a week, no one obviously was working, and so they didn't really have any income for those couple of months. So the first thing Norlite thought was what can we do to help them," said Tammy Valima, organizer of the benefit.

Norlite Nursing Home, which regularly hosts community fundraisers, hopes to raise between $3,000 to $5,000 for the family.

The spaghetti dinner begins at noon Saturday at the American Legion in Marquette and runs until 5 p.m.
