HOUGHTON -- As of Tuesday, September 25, 2012, there are exactly 266 days until FinnFest, and one thing organizers need the most are volunteers.

From fundraising to programming, there are a lot of different ways you can help. Youth volunteers can also help with FinnFest.

Over 10,000 visitors are expected to attend the event, so if you live in the Western U.P., organizers say they need your help.

“In order for us to put this event on and show the people that are coming here the Copper Country way, we need volunteers. We need people to step up now. We need them during the week of the event, but anything you can give, even if you can't give a lot of time, we could use you," said Susie Landers, Managing Director of FinnFest.

Landers also says the projected economic impact could bring up to $10 million to the area. The next event is a FinnFest preview on October 23 in Baraga.

If you're interested in becoming a volunteer, you can e-mail
