MARQUETTE -- A group of Japanese residents were welcomed to Marquette Friday evening with a celebration at Peter White Public Library.

Six delegates from Marquette's sister city, Higashiomi, visited with several community members at the Meet the Delegates party.

For the past 33 years, Marquette and Higashiomi have exchanged delegations every year.

The Japanese residents are staying with host families in the Marquette area.

The delegation is expected to leave next Wednesday.
