Cliffs contract talks to continue

MARQUETTE COUNTY -- Cliffs Natural Resources and the United Steelworkers of America will resume contract talks next month in Duluth, Minnesota.

The two sides failed to reach a new contract by the September 1 deadline, but they agreed to extend the contact with no strike and no lockout without at least 48 hours notice from either side.

Contract talks will resume October 8. Meanwhile the mines continue to operate.
