MARQUETTE -- The Messiah Lutheran church was filled with a different kind of music Thursday night. Singer songwriter Tret Fure performed in front of a crowd to help raise money for the Marquette Alzheimer's Association. Organizers say this event is just one of many planned throughout the year to help raise money to treat and cure the disease.

"We're starting some new program with people in the early stages of Alzheimer's, and those are new things in our community. We're really excited about that opportunity, so that's what this money goes to," said Ruth Almen of the Marquette Alzheimer's Association. "It's very important for us to have this kind of support."

This is the fifth year for the concert. The next event for the Marquette Alzheimer's Association will be the Walk to End Alzheimer's scheduled for September 22.
