Arrest made in connection with missing Bessemer woman

A 50-year-old Bessemer man has been arrested in connection with the disappearance and death of 79-year-old Ethel Grzena Peters

BESSEMER -- Fifty-year-old Kenneth Wayne Peters was arrested for homicide in connection with the disappearance and death of 79-year-old Ethel Grzena Peters, also of Bessemer.

The suspect was lodged in the Gogebic County Jail after being arrested at 8 p.m. on Wednesday night. He appeared in court on Thursday.

Peters is being charged with first degree homicide, vulnerable adult abuse, and second degree homicide. Two of those charges could mean life in prison if convicted.

His bond has been revoked and he will be back in Gogebic County court on August 31 at 10:30 a.m. 

The Gogebic County Sheriff and Michigan State Police lead the investigation and arrest.
