ISHPEMING -- "Running for a Reason" is putting together a 5-K run that will raise money for the group this weekend.

The run will raise money for a general fund that the group will use for community members who are experiencing financial hardships.  In the past, they've held running events when they heard of people in need.  They hope this run will help them provide financial assistance quicker.

"It's kind of a fundraiser in itself, and we can establish an account so that if a situation comes up and we would like to make a donation, we have that money on hand rather than having to do a fundraiser and wait a month or two before we can actually donate money," said run organizer, Carrie Harvala.

The run will start at 906 Cross Fit in Ishpeming.  Runners will head down the Iron Ore Heritage Trail.
