HOUGHTON -- If you're interested in relaxing and enjoying live music, downtown Houghton has what you need.

This year's summer concert series in takes place every Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. on the parking deck across from the Wells Fargo bank in downtown Houghton. Each week there will be a different band performing.

"We have a lot of different types of music," said Susie Landers. "Everything from folk to country to a little bit of rock and roll. We have people doing cover tunes, we have people doing their own music so it's a great variety. A lot of times we'll showcase some up and coming musicians, maybe some young children prior to the main event."

If you'd like to attend the concert the city says free seating is available, but you're more than welcome to bring your own chairs. Thursday night's concert includes Scott Perkins and Friends and AJ Fischer and Wende Jonas Hill.
