MARQUETTE -- The Marquette County Sheriff's Department is investigating an overnight break-in at a State Republican Party Office.

The local "Victory Center" is located in Marquette Township, off of US-41 across from Pizza Hut. It's the base of regional GOP operations, where volunteers make phone calls and provide materials to local voters.

Some electronic equipment was reportedly missing when workers arrived on Tuesday morning. Despite the interruption, party officials remain focused on keeping the "Victory Center" up and running.

"Right now, we're just referring everything to the police department and the state party. We don't want to point any fingers until they've had a chance to do their work," said Marquette County GOP Chair Dan Adamini.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Marquette County Sheriff's Department at 225-8435.
