ISHPEMING -- The second annual Suicide Hill Mud Plunge is coming up on August 25, and organizers are urging those interested to register as soon as possible.

The Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Chamber of Commerce run fundraiser helps benefit the Ishpeming Ski Club.

There is a 5K event and also a 1K for kids. Registration is $25 per person or $100 for a team of up to four people. The deadline to guarantee receiving a shirt and water bottle is August 1, and prices will increase later in August.

"We have changed the course quite a bit this year," said GINCC Director Elizabeth Peterson. "We've extended it a little bit, added some new obstacles, so there will be some fun surprises."

There are already more than 350 registrants. For more information on the Mud Plunge, visit the GINCC website.
