NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP -- The Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter is holding an adoption special on cats through the week.

From July 19 to 28, cats from ages three and up are free. These cats come with all the standard benefits of a regular adoption, including vaccines, a free DVD, and a full bag of Dr. Tim's Cat Food.

UPAWS personnel have many of these adult cats to choose from.

"It seems like these cats that are age three and up get overlooked and get passed by," said Ann Brownell of UPAWS. "Maybe they're not as outgoing as a kitten, maybe they're not as stunning as a kitten. We think they're all worth a million dollars...we love them. We want the limelight to shine on them."

For a complete list of all the pets available at UPAWS, be sure to check out their website.
