NEGAUNEE -- Pioneer Days kicked off Sunday with the Old Towne Festival in Negaunee.

Pioneer Days has been an annual summer event for 33 years, but this is only the 5th annual Old Towne Festival at Jackson Mine Park .

The festival offered live music from local bands.

The nearby senior center offered games and activities for kids.

Local vendors had pizza, hot dogs, and drinks for sale.

Many of those that joined in the festivities are alumni in town for high school reunions.

"I'm feeling great about today," said Ann Yoho, Vice President of the Negaunee Irontown Association. "Everybody in this town comes together and helps run the venues for the people that come here on vacation to see their friends from high school."

All proceeds go to the Negaunee Irontown Association to help run the venues throughout Pioneer Days.

Thescheduled events include, a softball tournament, a princess pageant, a parade, and ending with a fireworks display.
