L'ANSE -- L'Anse is doing some major clean up after Monday night's thunderstorms ripped through the town.

No injuries were reported, but the storm did knock down trees and power lines which left half of the town without power.

Early on Tuesday morning electric crews worked on restoring the downed power lines.  The L'Anse Fire Department says calls started coming in at around 12:30 Tuesday morning.

"There were some trees that were down between Whirl-I-Gig and Marksman road," said L'Anse Fire Chief Mike Bianco. "We probably had about 10 full sized trees down on the road and somewhere down on the line so we had to wait for UPPCO."

According to the UPPCO website, over 100 residents in Baraga county still remain without power.
