HIAWATHA NATIONAL FOREST -- The fight against wildfires in Colorado is getting some help from the Upper Peninsula.

Hiawatha's Upper Peninsula Interagency Fire Coordination Center has recently dispatched 22 personnel.  This includes 10 people from Hiawatha National Forest, two from Ottawa National Forest, and 10 from the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community.  There are also three engines headed to Colorado for assistance.

According to the Associated Press, dozens of homes have been destroyed by a wildfire threatening Colorado Springs.  The fire has forced evacuations for more than 32,000 people, according to ColoradoConnection.com.

The blaze, now covering around 24 square miles, doubled in size overnight, according to officials.
