ALGER COUNTY -- The Alger Correctional Facility is back to normal after an assault on corrections officers.  The incident happened Thursday night in the prison yard.

According to a Corrections Department official, officers were shaking down some inmates when a shank was found.  That's when the attacks occurred.  To gain control, a corrections officer fired a warning shot.

Six inmates were involved.  Four corrections officers were attacked.  Three of them required hospital treatment for cuts and bruises.  The prison was locked down Thursday night.

Some of the inmates involved in the altercation will be moved out of the Munising prison.
