MUNISING -- Every Tuesday in Munising, the Farmers and Artisans Market brings in large crowds to shop for locally grown produce and crafts.

The market is in its fifth year and has been growing recently.  Organizers have incorporated a community bread oven that also serves as a local fundraiser.

About 24 vendors fill into the Bayshore Park pavilion to showcase their goods.  Recently the market received more money for advertising, and that has increased the turnout.

"It's turned into really a vital weekly event here in Munising; people love it," said co-market manager Jill Baugnet.  "People come from out of town. The tourists love it and the locals love it."

The busiest times for the market are in the months of July and August.  The Farmers and Artisans Market runs from 4 to 7 p.m. every Tuesday through the middle of October.
