The 24-hour event represents a day in the life of a cancer patient and attracts hundreds with tents prepared for the all-nighter

IRON MOUNTAIN -- Relay For Life returned to Dickinson County Friday at the Iron Mountain High School stadium.

The 24-hour event represents a day in the life of a cancer patient and attracts hundreds with tents prepared for the all-nighter. This year there are 300 participants and 30 teams taking their turn on the track.

"We'd like all of the public, everyone in the community, to come out. You don't have to be on a team to come out; just come on out to see what we're doing here at the Iron Mountain High School stadium," said coordinator Mary Carlson.

The event included a cancer survivor ceremony where survivors walked the track and a candle light ceremony in memory of loved ones who lost the battle.
