Relaxing ways to enjoy the day with dad

IRON MOUNTAIN -- Father's Day is only a couple days away and, as always, families are scrambling to find that last minute gift for dad.  All of the dads I asked just seemed to want one thing:  to take it easy this Father's Day.

If dad enjoys the outdoors, kayaking may be the perfect activity for him to relax out on the water.

“I want to go out to the lake and spend time with my daughter,” says father Nicholas Lusardi.

Wild River Adventures offers half-day kayak rentals for only $25.  But, if you prefer to stay on land, perhaps mountain bike rentals are more your speed.  For $20 you can spend half a day exploring the scenic terrain the U.P. offers.

If dad is into fishing, the Whispering Pines Outpost in Iron Mountain has some good deals on rod and reel combinations for as low as $20.

“Just kind of relax with my kids and have a good time,” says father Steve Shaneck.

For another relaxing option, you can always head to the Tri-City Cinemas in Quinnesec.  It's perfect for dad--they get in free on Sunday for Father's Day.
