ISHPEMING -- An Ishpeming man appears in Marquette County court Friday afternoon, after being arrested in a meth lab bust last Thursday night.

Christopher O'Connor, 46, has been charged with two counts of operating and maintaining a meth lab.

Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team detectives, along with the Ishpeming Police Department and Michigan State Police went to 606 East High Street Thursday night after receiving a tip.  They found components of a meth lab in the garage of the home.

"Probably what I'd like to say is that we hear that there's a lot of this in our area," said Ishpeming Police Chief Daniel Willey.  "We know some of the people that are doing it, and I expect that there's going to be more busts here this summer."

O'Connor remains in jail on a $40,000 bond.  His preliminary exam is June 29 in Marquette County District Court.
