TAMARACK -- A water main break in the Tamarack City area has caused a boil advisory to be issued to residents, according to Michigan-American Water of Calumet.

The water main at M-26 and 6th Street was broken by a contractor in that area, and as a result, residents in the Tamarack and Hubbell areas are being informed to boil their water for at least five minutes before using it for consumption.

The advisory will be lifted once samples show no evidence of bacterial contamination.  Once the boil advisory is lifted, residents are asked to flush their taps for around 10 minutes before using the water normally.

If you have any questions, you can contact Michigan-American Water of Calumet at (906) 337-3502 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
