NEWBERRY -- The American Red Cross is still helping out with the Duck Lake wildfire and now they're shifting their objective

Since most victims are staying with friends and family, the Red Cross is focusing on damage assessment.  They're looking at maps and data, and gathering information on the homes of victims who were evacuated.

Volunteers are sitting down with victims and trying to decide what the next step should be.

"People have been devastated," said Jeff Selesky of the American Red Cross.  "In some cases, the clients have actually lost everything in their homes.  So, it's a reassessment for them.  They have to reevaluate where they're at and where they desire to go from this point on."

The red cross is also setting victims up with insurance agencies and financial institutions.
