GLADSTONE -- The City of Gladstone's Public Works Department began repairing the intersection at 13th and Wisconsin Monday.  The intersection will be closed for two weeks.  No homeowners will be assessed for intersection repairs.

The public works director identified the intersection this past winter during the budget process.  City Manager Darla Falcon said she doesn't expect the road closure to be too much of an inconvenience to drivers who look for alternate routes.

"Really, use your own discretion.  All the blocks around there are open.  It's just taking you one block.  They will be taking up the current intersection. They'll be putting in all new curbing and cement for the intersection," said Falcon.

Falcon said the intersection is in serious need of repair.
