Prison inmate death under investigation

ALGER COUNTY -- The Michigan State Police is investigating the death of a 39-year-old prison inmate that occurred on Thursday.

The MSP and Michigan Department of Corrections are taking a look at the death that happened at the Alger Maximum Correctional Facility.  The MSP Forensic Lab in Marquette is also assisting.

There is an autopsy scheduled for Friday at Marquette General Hospital.  We will provide more information when it becomes available.
