MARQUETTE -- A business competition has helped the "Run For Life" committee raise over $3,000 for their upcoming race in June.  The winner of the competition is Econo Foods in Marquette.  They contributed over $750 to the race that's intended to promote organ donation.

The grocery store encouraged customers to donate money at the check-out line.  The race committee went to Econo Tuesday to thank the staff for their efforts in supporting the cause.

"It's very exciting.  It's a way to get people involved in health and fitness and also promoting organ donation and just letting people know about it," said Race Director, Amy Harju.

The race is set for 9 a.m. June 2 at Marquette's Mattson Lower Harbor Park, with registration beginning at 8 a.m.  The race will feature a 10k and 5k run.
