CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP -- Members of the Gentz's Homestead Golf Course in Chocolay Township are teeing off to take on breast cancer.  Next Sunday, the course will host "Breast Friend," an event aimed at raising money for the Avon National Breast Cancer Walk in Chicago.  Organizers say they hope to top last year's haul of over $3,000.

But Thursday morning golfer, Russ Dollar, got a head start on fundraising.  Dollar had been golfing all day and plans to hit as many holes as he can by nightfall Friday.

"He was here at six in the morning.  He didn't get to start until shortly after eight because of heavy frost, so there was a delay this morning.  He's hoping to start earlier tomorrow," said Danielle St. Onge of the Homestead Golf Course.

Dollar hopes to get to 100 holes by the time he's finished and raise $600.

Friends of Dollar have made small donations of one or two bucks at each hole.
