It's the 40th anniversary for the Marquette Choral Society

MARQUETTE -- It's a milestone for one choir in Marquette. It's the 40th anniversary for the Marquette Choral Society.

Their concert on Sunday packed the house at Reynolds Recital Hall at Northern Michigan University. The choir is community-based, so anyone who loves to sing is allowed to join. It has more than 100 members.

They have been under the direction of Floyd Slotterback for the last 26 years.

"It's just a thrill to be a part of a choir that has this kind of a history, and we're celebrating by singing, but we're also celebrating the 13 people who are charter members who are still singing in the group," said Choir Director Floyd Slotterback.

Five of those 13 members have never missed a concert in 40 years.
