MARQUETTE -- AmVets Post 125 has officially been reopened out of the Jacobetti Center in Marquette.

AmVets is an American veterans organization open to those who served any branch of the military at any time as long as they were discharged honorably. The Jacobetti Center serves as headquarters for the post, so members can better serve the veterans. So far Post 125 has ten members, and they aspire to grow rapidly.

"I hope, specify hope, that we would be the biggest in Marquette County," said Post 125 Commander Bernie Stamaway.

"As vets get older, there was a lack of participation, now we have individuals that are interested," said District Commander Carol Hebert.

To join AmVets Post 125, contact the Jacobetti Center in Marquette.
