LAURIUM -- The Laurium Fire Department and the Calumet Township Fire Department responded to a house fire at around 2:30 on Tuesday morning.

The fire department says upon arrival the house on 115 Pewabic Street was fully engulfed in flames, and soon after the house next door at 117 Pewabic Street also went up in flames.  Officials say it was an electrical fire from a car parked in the garage.

One resident said she heard a loud explosion.

The home was occupied by four residents, but no one was injured during the blaze.  Officials say both homes were completely destroyed.
