MARQUETTE -- The Michigan State Police are hoping to speak with a Marquette man that was sent to the hospital after an accidental shooting that took place early Saturday morning.

Eric Thomas, 37, was brought into the emergency room at Marquette General Hospital shortly after 1 a.m. with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. State troopers said the shooting occurred at a camp on Brown Deer Road in Powell Township.

Thomas was still in the hospital as of Monday morning, listed in stable condition.

The police don't suspect foul play at this time, but are continuing to investigate the incident.
