Ishpeming got more than 27 inches of snow

ISHPEMING -- It seemed to be a mild winter here in the U.P., but that all changed with our snowstorm that began Friday and lasted throughout the weekend. It was the biggest snowstorm of the season.

According to the National Weather Service, we had a record snowfall for March 3 with 18.5 inches. Ishpeming got more than 27 inches of snow.

But that wasn't enough to keep the winter enthusiasts from venturing outdoors. Indiana resident, Donald Page, and his buddies were out snowmobiling in Ishpeming.

“This is our fourth trip here in the U.P.,” said Page. “And the first three had fairly minimal snow. We did find some snow and we did snowmobile a lot. But it's nothing like the snow that we have here today.”

Other people were out brushing the snow from their cars.

And there was a good bit of traffic on the icy roads, despite the snowy conditions.
