After years of being slow on Super Bowl Sunday, a Marquette bar, the Doghouse, chose to host their own private party
MARQUETTE -- In light of the Super Bowl, we thought we'd check out how some local businesses are choosing to celebrate.
After years of being slow on Super Bowl Sunday, a Marquette bar, the Doghouse, chose to host their own private party. Roughly 30 customers, who previously bought tickets, enjoyed an 'All You Can Drink and Eat' of the traditional football food: wings, pizza and nachos.
Employees said this is the busiest the sports bar has been during a Super Bowl.
"Well it's nice being a privately-owned bar because we're allowed to do things that franchises aren't necessarily allowed to do, and a lot of the people that are here right now are simply our friends, so for a local business, it's good business," said Paul Luoma, the manager.
The bar resumed regular hours after the game.
