ESCANABA -- Only one musician was picked from the Upper Peninsula to play in the Lions All-State Band.

Patricia Lemire of the Escanaba High School Band has been playing the clarinet for three or four years.

Her dream is to travel to South Korea this June with the Lions All-State Band. However, she's seeking donations to help her reach her $4,500 goal.  She's raised about $300 so far and says she wants to travel and share her passion with others.

"If anyone can help me, it would be awesome," said Lemire. "I really want to go.  Being able to do this with my music is wonderful.  I'd actually like to make a career out of my music if I could."

If you are interested in helping, donations can be made to Patricia Lemire, Lions Club Band Fund at the Peninsula Federal Credit Union, P.O. Box 717, Escanaba, MI  49829.
