The Children's Museum said it's just a way to thank the public for its contributions

MARQUETTE -- The U.P. Children's Museum in Marquette opened its doors for free on Sunday "Free Day at the Museum" is a long running annual tradition at the museum.

With the help of Charter Communications, the museum allowed all guests in for free all day. The museum said it's just a way to thank the public for its contributions, and there was no shortage of fun for the kids.

The wildlife was very popular. The museum snake, named Zeus, was an especially big hit.

"Kinda warm...he was warm," said Halle and Tyles, brother and sister, describing the snake.

Mu Beta Psi from NMU sang Christmas carols and made some arts and crafts with the kids. This is the second year they have volunteered at the event. The event also featured discount memberships to attendees.
