Many local organizations are taking their meetings to the K.I. Sawyer Heritage Air Museum

SAWYER -- With the recent closing of the Tailwinds Grill and Bar at K.I. Sawyer, many local organizations are taking their meetings to the K.I. Sawyer Heritage Air Museum.

Officials there said renting the space has helped support the museum immensely. Admission is free, so they run entirely on donations. The museum, which reopened in May, offers a huge ballroom and stage for meetings and events.

The only thing they don't have is a bar and restaurant.

"If it gets to the point where they want to have events in the ballroom and have food and everything, there's always catering, and we can always line that up and it's very simple. Caterers can come in and bring any kind of food you want," said Museum President Bob Vick.

It costs $45 to rent the space for half a day and $60 for a full day.
