CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP -- With Halloween Monday, several community volunteers are already working hard to throw a bash in Chocolay Township.

It's all for the 27th Annual Chocolay Lions Club Halloween Party.

Volunteers spent hours Friday afternoon blowing up and tying hundreds of balloons to build up the halloween spirit.

Their fingers may be sore, but they say it's all worth it.

"Its out of love, a labor of love and thankfully we have enough volunteers to learn how to do it correctly, so we don't have to go back and redo it," said Lion's Club membership Chairman, Dan Chartier.

Donations from local sponsors make the event possible.

Teaching Family Homes and Northern Michigan Wildcat hockey players will also be lending a helping hand to put the event on Monday.

The party will be in Cherry Creek School in Chocolay Township Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and is free for all community members.
