CHASSELL -- An 18-year-old Adams Township man was arraigned on Monday for the attempted robbery of Superior National Bank in Chassell.

Officers say on Saturday, Paden Rothenberger, along with two juveniles, wore ski masks and carried what sheriff officials say was an air-soft pistol.

The three suspects were unable to get inside the bank.  They were arrested by police in the wooded area behind the bank.

"Count one is attempted bank robbery," said Judge Mark Wiisti.  "This is a felony punishable by up to five years in the state penitentiary.  Count two is attempted armed robbery, and this is also a felony."

Rothenberger could face up to 10 years if found guilty.  Bond is set at $10,000.  His preliminary trial is set for October 31.
