GLADSTONE -- A crash on M-35 in Gladstone has left two drivers injured on Friday, around 12:25 p.m.

The crash involved three vehicles, and occurred when a white Chevy Blazer lost control, crossed the center line, and struck a blue pickup truck, according to authorities. The truck then hit a Mitsubishi.

The driver of the Blazer, a 34-year-old Gladstone woman, and the 59-year-old man driving the pickup truck were both seriously injured, and taken to OSF St. Francis Hospital.  The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 34-year-old Gladstone woman, was not injured.

Residents said the accident is uncommon for this time of year.

"It's a residential area, a business area," said Gladstone resident Doug Cole.  "The speed limit probably should be slower here as it is anyway.  I think it should be down to 35 miles per hour through here, with all the traffic that comes in and out of this place."

None of the vehicles had passengers.  Gladstone Public Safety is still investigating the cause of the crash.
