Manistique man facing seven criminal counts

SCHOOLCRAFT COUNTY -- Michigan State Police from the Manistique Post are investigating a shooting that happened last Friday.
    
Police say 44-year-old Karl Ray Schnurer of Manistique fired a round from his deer rifle while he was seated in his vehicle.
    
The bullet hit another vehicle coming in the opposite direction and struck a 13-year-old boy seated behind the driver.

The bullet penetrated clothing, but did not enter the victim.
    
Schnurer is facing seven criminal counts including assault with a dangerous weapon and discharge of a firearm from a motor vehicle.
