CALUMET -- The SAE clean snowmobile challenge at Michigan Tech is getting a hefty contribution.
The Coca-Cola Foundation is donating $10,000 to the event which starts March 15.
The owners of Coca-Cola in Hancock have supported the challenge since it started 10 years ago.
The Clean Snowmobile Challenge tests noise and emissions on student-built snowmobiles. Fourteen teams are registered to participate in the internal combustion portion of the event; five are set to test their skills at zero emissions.
The Clean Snowmobile Challenge starts March 15 at the Keweenaw Research Center in Calumet.
