MANISTIQUE -- Bright sunshine, a great track, and near ideal conditions today in Manistique for the 2010 Michigan Snowcross series race.  This is the last race before the championships.  The City of Manistique went above and beyond by trucking in snow for the track at the fairgrounds over four days.

Seventy-five racers from 9 years old to 44 years old, from Three Rivers, Michigan to Copper Harbor in Upper Michigan and points in-between, were racing today.  Attendance was down a bit, at 200 today, but spectators really got a show with 60 races with lots of high flying off the hills and a clean competition all around.

John Zellar from Germfask said, "They got some noisy sleds.  I didn't see anything really bad.  There's a couple people who upended their machines and went off the track, but it was a really good show.  Main thing, nobody got hurt and it brought a lot of people into the area and helped the local businesses."

Snowcross racers have several weeks off and then the championships, which are scheduled for Boyne Mountain near Traverse City.
