More information is rolling in on the accident that has forced a portion of US-2 to close just south of Crystal Falls.
Apparently, a semi truck was attempting to make a turn at the County Road 424/US-2 intersection. A car that was coming down the road couldn't stop in time. It ended up colliding with the semi, running into the trailer.
The driver of that car was injured and is being transported to North Star Hospital.
A second semi was coming down the road and veered into the snow to avoid the wreckage in the roadway.
Crews are rerouting traffic until they can open the road and clear the damage.
Southbound traffic from Crystal Falls is to use 69 to Sagola and through Iron Mountain.
Northbound traffic on US-2 should head west on County Road 424 into Iron River.
Check back for more updates as details come in and check to see when the road is open to motorists.
