MARQUETTE -- If you like snow, 2010 promises to be a very good year.

Monday, it snowed almost nonstop in some parts of the Upper Peninsula, often heavy at times.  That's great for skiers, but treacherous for drivers.

Still, motorists in Marquette once again took to the roads.

Police were busy handling several accidents.  One mishap we saw occurred shortly before 1 p.m. on US-41 in front of Westwood Mall.  At the same time, police were dealing with two other accidents south of Shiras Hills.

Drivers told us they are trying to take it slower in this weather.

"Cautiousness is probably the key when you're driving in these conditions, and I don't think everyone thinks about that," said Trista Buzzo of Marquette.

"It's pretty bad conditions 'cause it doesn't seem the roads are kept up today, and it's been snowing all night, so once the roads get better, it will be fine," added Travis Hatfield of downstate Grayling.

Officials with the Marquette County Road Commission say all plows are on the road, and they will continue plowing day and night until the snow is cleaned up.
