MARQUETTE -- The smallest members of Marquette County rang in the new year at noon Thursday, during a party at the Marquette YMCA.

Balloons were released at noon as part of the Y's New Year's Eve Bash for kids from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Kids made party hats and ornaments, played games and got their faces painted.

Besides popcorn and juice, party-goers could also win a cupcake.

Staff at the YMCA estimate nearly 300 kids celebrated at the Y.
