Probably save the taxpayers some change if these guys volunteered at the fish hatchery, help restore what they took.

Law change

Posted by we need, Marquette - Monday, November 30, 2009 at 11:50 a.m.

We need a law change that allows this type of offense to be charged as theft and the amount of fish should should be taken into consideration as the value. Why has this never been a law before? This way a person who takes a couple fish gets a slap on the wrist and the mass offenders like this get are charged with a felony.

WHAT!

Misdemeanor? should be a felony. 1,110 pounds of fish? that's beyond wrong and extremely unethical. This is unfair to all of us, who pay license fees to assist in conserving fish so we can eat and play in our waters. I think prison time shouldn't be out of the question. Back in the day i would say hang them, this is our food source and these two men selfishly have been depleting it. I say throw them in a cage and let them starve. someone needs to take action against these guys.
