MANISTIQUE -- Both sides of the issue between the Schoolcraft County Board and the sheriff are still waiting to see what happens.

A mediation session was held Wednesday to discuss the recent budget cuts made to the sheriff's department.

According to the county clerk's office, the mediation session could not resolve the issue.

Now, both sides are waiting to see what happens with the appeal filed by Sheriff Grant Harris.

The attorney for the county board plans to file a counterstatement to the facts in the appeal.
