Escanaba Public Safety says the initial investigation shows a man was trying to cross the road and apparently stepped into the path of an oncoming vehicle.

ESCANABA -- The investigation continues after a pedestrian is hit in Escanaba.  It happened shortly after six Thursday night on South Lincoln Road.

Escanaba Public Safety says the initial investigation shows a man was trying to cross the road and apparently stepped into the path of an oncoming vehicle.

The victim was taken to St. Francis Hospital.

His name and condition have not been released.

Authorities say that alcohol is not a factor.

Article doesn't say who had right of way. Just states pedestrian step out to cross the street. If it was on a corner, driver should be ticketed.
