GLADSTONE -- Although Halloween is over, some high school drama students are still in the mood to give some audiences a good scare.

This weekend, the Gladstone High School is performing the '60s classic, "Night of the Living Dead."  Cast members say it'll be a spooky performance you'll never forget.

Zombies have taken over the Gladstone auditorium, and you don't want to be in their path.  They're an almost unstoppable force, terrorizing a group of lone survivors, fighting to stay alive.

"It's just a fun chill and thrill evening," explained play director, Ken Taylor.  "So you have seven people boarded up in a farm house trying to survive, get through the night.  And you have a bunch of zombies running around."

There are over 70 cast members taking part in this spooky thriller, but it's not a typical choice for the drama department.  Cast members say they wanted to so something a little different this year.

"This high school does a lot of plays, real feel good plays; this one is, it's just a little spooky for a change," said Zombie #1 character, Christopher LaMarche.

Cast members say those who enjoyed the movie will definitely like this performance, from the dialogue to the creative make-up and costumes.

"People who have seen this movie and liked the movie will definitely appreciate the stage show because a lot of it is word-for-word from the movie; most of the play actually is," said cast member, Caleb Whitmer.  "I think the set is great and I think the acting is great and I think the whole thing is good."

So can the audience expect the characters to make it through the night?  You'll have to wait and see.

If you'd like to catch a frightening performance, shows will run Thursday through Sunday, all beginning at 7:30 p.m.  There will be an afternoon show on Saturday, starting at 1 p.m.
