Monday night, both Gladstone and Escanaba city councils elected new city mayors.

DELTA COUNTY -- Two Delta County Cities have welcomed new faces to the office of mayor.
Monday night, both Gladstone and Escanaba city councils elected new city mayors.
Darin Hunter, long-time resident of Gladstone and detective for Escanaba Public Safety was elected as Gladstone's mayor.
Council Member Gilbert Cheves, was elected as Escanaba's mayor Monday night.
Both men say they're honored to take the office and are ready to begin their duties.
"My goal is to continue to serve like I have been, being fair and using common sense in the decisions that I make," stated Hunter.
"I appreciate the honor of the balance of the council forwarding that honor to me and look forward to doing a good job and fulfilling the requirements of being mayor of the city," said Cheves.
Both men will serve as mayor for at least the next two years.
