NEGAUNEE -- Lisa Cory is doing her part as she pays it forward.

In these tough and uncertain financial times, we here at TV6 are focusing on helping each other and working together.  One way is to "Pay it Forward," doing a good deed for someone in hopes they'll help out another person.

Lisa Cory of Negaunee loves to bake.  After she was treated to a good deed last week by Nancy Stoll, what better way to pay it forward than to make some goodies for a friend.

Lisa is making her famous scones for a friend who owns a local salon shop.

"Well, Kelli is a great, young business woman and I thought it would be nice to save that little bit of expense for her," said Lisa.  "She always likes to have baked goods and treats out at her shop with coffee, so I thought this is a way I could help her."

After mixing the ingredients and rolling out the dough, it's time to put them in the oven to bake.  Once the scones were done, Lisa let them sit for the night.

The next day she brought them to Kelli Crookham, the owner of Grand Effects Hair Salon in Negaunee.

"It feels good always to get chosen from a friend that you feel (you) could give back to the community and help out other people that may deserve it," said Kelli.

Now that Kelli, her co-workers and patrons have enjoyed the scones, it's Kelli's turn to pay it forward.

Exchanging baked goods and pleasantries is your idea of charity and benevolence? I'd ask you to print real news, but what else could I expect from the wizards at Fox? You're all a great benefit to humanity.
